DJOY de CUBA

was born in Havana, Cuba on December 19, 1976. He studied in the art school at  San Alejandro Academy. His debut as his DJ was on April 19, 1997 with a group of friends in a club called “Atalier” known today as “The Yellow Submarine”, since then he devoted himself entirely to the production of electronic music . He was holding the first alternative concept parties in Cuba. In 1998 with the collaboration of the German festival team  “LOVE PARADE” and the guide of the well-known DJ Hell, Joyvan Guevara puts his hands on a Turntable for the first time.

His sound is characterized by a progressive, eclectic and psychedelic mix, he goes from House to Tech House to Techno. The spontaneous factor always gives a unique color to the dramaturgy of his session.he drive his set as authentic story teller

Founder of the Cuban electronic music festival “ROTILLA” together with producer Michel Matos that reached from 1998 (150 ravers) to 2010 (30,000 ravers). This festival became the voice of the new Cuban generation, censored by the Cuban government who appropriated the festival since 2011.

Djoy de Cuba is considered as the pioneer and father of the Cuban electronic scene, currently based in Tampa, FL.

nace en La Habana, Cuba el 19 de diciembre de 1976.

Estudió Artes Plásticas en la academia de San Alejandro. Su debut como Dj fue el 19 de abril de 1997 junto a un grupo de amigos en un club llamado “Atalier” conocido hoy como “El submarino amarillo”,

desde entonces se dedicó  por completo a la producción de música electrónica. Realizando las primeras fiestas de concepto alternativo en Cuba.
En 1998 con la colaboración del equipo de realización del festival alemán “LOVE  PARADE” y la guia del conocido DJ Hell, DJoy de Cuba pone por primera vez sus manos en un Turntable.
Su sonido se caracteriza por contar una historia con mezcla progresiva, ecléctica y psicodélica con muchos elementos acid , se pasea entre el House  el Tech House y el  Techno.

El factor espontáneo le da siempre un color único a la dramaturgia de su sesión.

Fundador del festival de música electrónica  cubano “ROTILLA” junto al productor Michel Matos que alcanzó desde 1998 (150 ravers) hasta 2010 (30000 ravers) Este festival se convirtió en la voz de la nueva generación cubana, censurados por el gobierno cubano quien se apropia del festival desde 2011.

Djoy de Cuba es considerado como el pionero y padre de la escena electrónica cubana, actualmente radica en Tampa, FL.
